Amazing Moment 6-Year-Old Girl Sings Incredible Rendition of ‘Fight Song’ for Mom Battling Cancer (VIDEO)

A 6-year-old Pennsylvania child pageant contestant belted out a moving rendition of “Fight Song” dedicated to her mom’s cancer battle, Inside Edition reports.

Caitlin Shorey sang the Rachel Platten song at the National American Miss pageant in California over Thanksgiving break, and dedicated it to her mom, Nicole.

“Tears,” Nicole told Inside Edition. “It made me very happy, very proud of her.”

Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. The cancer has since progressed and can no longer be cured.

Despite her health, Nicole wanted to support Caitlin when she announced she wanted to compete in a pageant.

“[We wanted to keep] things as normal as possible for the kids, trying to keep our routines in place and not show them how much it affects us,” she said.

Caitlin competed in a number of local pageants and then she graduated to larger ones, eventually getting to the National American Miss.

The first grader knew she wanted to sing a song for her mom at the pageant.

“I wanted to pick a song for my mom because she was going through chemo and that song talks about being strong and fighting,” Caitlin said. “She played some songs — this one came up — and I was like, ‘Wow, this one really… I like it.’ It was like how my mom’s fighting so it’s the one I wanted.”

“We’re so proud of her,” Nicole said.
