Excited Puerto Rico Students Explode in Cheers and Joy When School’s Power Comes On After 112 Days

A viral video shows the moment students at a Puerto Rican school erupted in cheers after their power came on for the first time since Hurricane Maria hit the island in September, Inside Edition reports.

The electricity came back on at Academia Bautista de Puerto Nuevo in San Juan on January 12, after 112 days without power.

The children erupt in joy and excitement when they see the lights are back on.

The students were going to school without power for the last three months.

Emergency crews have been working to get electricity back for months after Maria caused nearly all of the island to lose power.

Workers are still working to get electricity to 500,000 who are still without electricity.
