He’s a Fighter: Jimmy Kimmel’s 7-Month-Old Son Has Second Successful Heart Surgery

Late night host’s Jimmy Kimmel’s baby son underwent his second successful heart surgery Monday, People reports.

ABC announced on Monday that Kimmel’s 7-month-old son Billy “had a scheduled and successful heart surgery this morning.”

The network said Kimmel is taking time off to be “with his family.”

Billy was scheduled to have the surgery in October but it had to be postponed “due to the common cold,” according to the network.

Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney had the baby in April.

Kimmel announced at the time that Billy had to undergo surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles when he was just 3 days old.

Billy has a condition called the tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia.

“Basically, the pulmonary valve was completely blocked and he has a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of his heart,” Kimmel said on his show earlier this year.

Kimmel also has another child with McNearney, 3-year-old Jane. He has two other older children, Kevin and Katie, from a previous relationship.
