Incredible Video Shows Firefighter Catch Child Thrown From 3rd Floor as They Rescue Family of 12

A Georgia family of 12 made a dramatic escape from a burning apartment building, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.

Father Lance Ragland was miraculously the only one hurt after suffering sustained burns while he made sure all of his children – including newborn twins – escaped unharmed.

Ragland was released from the hospital after being treated for his burns.

“Failure is not an option, failure is never an option when it comes to protecting family,” Ragland told Fox.

Ragland sprang into action as fire engulfed their third-floor apartment, realizing the only way out was through their balcony.

“I felt warm, then one time it got really hot, that pushed me to go faster,” he said.

Dramatic video shows him usher his children down a ladder where firefighters caught them.

“From my end, I’m looking at a checklist, I couldn’t see what everybody else was doing,” he said. “At the bottom, [it’s a] whole other world going on because they’re catching the rush that I’m sending down and I’m not giving no space.”

Ragland suffered second-degree burns to his back but made sure everyone else got out unscathed.

“Anything happens to me, I’m okay, but to y’all no,” said Ragland.

The family lost everything in the fire and Ragland will need surgery for his injuries.

The family has started a GoFundMe page where they’re raised well more than their $7,000 goal to get back on their feet.

“We’re just trying to figure out how we’re going to rebuild but we’re together and we will figure it out,” said Ragland.
