Students Rally to Buy New Boots for Kindhearted Custodian After Seeing His Shoes Falling Apart

A group of Michigan high school students surprised their custodian with an unexpected Christmas present, Inside Edition reports.

Kenna Hermanson, 18, and her friend Andrew Cordes came up with the idea to buy a new pair of work boots for Garden City High School custodian Brian Junk after they noticed his shoes were worn out.

“We thought it was a great idea because he is so nice and he always does so much for people,” Hermanson told Inside Edition.

The two friends got help from 10 other students to raise the money to buy the new boots.

The students posted a video of them surprising Junk with the new shoes.

“He was so excited and he did not expect it at all,” Hermanson said. “He told me at school yesterday that he sprayed them so they can be ready to be worn.”

“We think it’s important to give back to him because of all he does for the students. He deserves it,” she added.
