Two Dogs Mysteriously Begging to Be Let Out at 4 AM Save Lost Elderly Woman Freezing to Death

Two Michigan dogs are being hailed as heroes after they helped save an elderly woman lost in the cold, Mlive reports.

Adam and Eva began to act strangely at around 4 am Saturday and begged to go outsid

“(Adam) never tugged on my clothes before, so I was a cautious about letting them out because I didn’t know if there was anything out there,” owner Lonnie Chester told Mlive.

The dogs sprinted out of the home as soon as Lonnie went to open the door and ran for his truck.

Next to his truck, Lonnie found a woman in her late 80s on the ground and wearing just a nightgown in the freezing cold. According to Mlive, it was around just 9 degrees outside.

“She looked up at me and said, ‘I’m so cold,'” Lonnie said. “I have no idea how long she had been out there. She must have been terrified.”

Lonnie brought the woman in and called 911 while she warmed up under some blankets on the couch.

“It could have been a tragic outcome had Adam and Eva not woken us,” Lonnie’s wife Susan said. “I don’t know how they knew she was out there.”

Moments after first responders came, the woman’s relatives came to the home to ask if they had seen her. She had gotten lost and the family was unable to find her in the snow.

She was checked into a hospital to be treated.

“I’ve got to give 911 major credit because they were here really fast after I called,” Lonnie said.

“We’re just so proud of our dogs knowing they may have saved a life,” Susan said. “I hope this serves as a wake-up call for everyone, especially with it being so cold out.”
