WATCH: Dramatic Video Shows Unconscious Dog Rescued From Burning Building, Revived With CPR

Bodycam video shows Atlanta police officers rescue a dog from a burning building, Today reports.

Officer Robert Winkler’s bodycam video shows him pulling the dog out of a burning building.

Officer Austin Denninger carried the dog, who appeared unconscious, across the street where officers performed CPR on the pup.

The dog awoke and began to breathe.

“When it finally started to come to and it caught its breath, it was breathtaking for me,” Denninger said.

“The last thing you want is that this dog is going to die right in front of me,” Winkler said. “It’s a really low feeling, so you have to do something. You can’t just stand by.”

Sergeant John Chafee said the Atlanta Police Department is “extremely proud of everyone involved” in the dog’s rescue.

“Our officers are trained to help and to save lives. Most of the time we see this play out with officers working to save a person’s life, but in this case our officers saw an animal in need and acted to help,” he said.

The dog has recovered and is now up for adoption. No owner could be found and police suspect he may have belong to a homeless person.
